Dan Cusack
Dan CusackBarterPay Northern Ontario - President
SENA Position: Member

In February 2007, Dan Cusack (owner of Gonga’s Grill) was visiting Niagara (and using some BarterPay Dollars) and decided to stop in to the BarterPay Corporate Office. After an hour long meeting, Dan decided that he was going to acquire the franchise. After about a month, Dan acquired the franchise not only for Sudbury but for all of Northern Ontario. Dan quickly opened an office and hired a full time broker to service the existing members. In October of 2011, he signed up Bridge’s Bistro, then managed by Sandra Crawford. About 6 months later, Sandra was looking for another opportunity and met with Dan to discuss taking over brokering with aim of becoming a partner in the business. Dan agreed and in the first year together they were able to double the amount of trading in the region. Each year since they have grown by a minimum of 20%. In 2013, BarterPay Canada instituted a monthly franchise reporting rank system based on a number of monthly metrics that measure the health and success of the franchise and its clients. Since then, BarterPay Northern Ontario has won 23 out of 40 months and was the annual franchise report rank winner for 2015.

Shawn Ouimet
Shawn OuimetWEMET Media - Owner
SENA Position: Member

Shawn Ouimet is the owner/operator of WEMET Media, a home-based full-service Digital Advertising graphic design and marketing company.    Starting in 2017 as a hobby building websites for companies in Greater Sudbury, one client later that year inquired about digital advertising screens which Shawn began researching, testing various content systems and media boxes until he found two different systems, plus a variety of media boxes that produce video and/or static images that would fulfill the client’s needs and because he liked both formats he has kept systems operational.

Since that time WEMET Media has grown to 9 advertising screens (always looking to expand) in various locations having local and national companies using his advertising space.  Shawn has also created working relationships with Sudbury.com to use their news content as well as Rogers Sportsnet RSS feed.  He also created working partnerships with other local digital advertisers to sell ad space on each other’s screen locations creating a formula to satisfy the target market for his clients.  Shawn is also the only local provider (to his knowledge) that will design build and install digital menu/ pricing boards and video walls.

Not everything is digital with us we also offer logo and graphic design for flyers, brochures and posters.  Plus we also secured an agreement to sell local arena rink board advertising.  Shawn knows he can’t have every digital location and product to sell to everyone however, in making these business relationships he knows he can service any client and give them the best opportunity and value to advertise and promote their business.

A little about me, I am married with two girls, I has coached minor hockey for over ten years, volunteered at CKLU radio 4 years, I have also run for municipal government.  I currently volunteer for the Salvation Army plus I’m an executive board member of a federal party and have recently been appointed as a member of the Grant Review team for the Ontario Trillium Foundation.  I also offer free ad space to local non-profit charities and events.

You can contact Shawn directly for any advertising need by email: shawn@wemet.ca or 705-662-0458 or visit the website to view other services we offer.
